I'm hoping you'll join me in taking action on methyl iodide, a known carcinogen that will likely contaminate groundwater, from being approved for use in the U.S. Big agricultural interests want to use it as a pesticide, fumigating soil at a rate of hundreds of pounds per acre.
Scientists familiar with the chemical from around the country agree that it is too hazardous to be used as an agricultural pesticide.
Please join me and the Pesticide Action Network in ensuring that Californias decision to put methyl iodide on trial will compel the U.S. EPA to seriously reconsider the chemical.
